FireAlpaca program review

Description

hello everyone. today i am going to do something that i have never done on dA before; review an art program.

introducing FireAlpaca! it is freeware available on both MAC and WINDOWS operating systems. this is nice because a) most art programs cost money and b) it is hard to find art freeware for mac. (note: freeware = costs no money) it comes in a few languages, i believe. at least the website has many language options, haha.

it seems to be very similar to sai. the main issue, for me, is that the pen pressure is not as sensitive as it is on sai. this doesn't affect me too much- i don't rely very strongly on pen pressure when i draw.

this program has a handful of features that sai DOESN'T have- a gradient tool, blur filters, perspective tools, etc that make it completely worth the less-sensitive pen pressure for tablet users.

i found it to be a very fun program for pixel work. checking the "AntiAliasing" box while drawing converts the current brush to a brush for pixel art. so there are a few more options for pixel art than with sai.

i haven't played with the marker or watercolor brushes yet. i'm going to do that now!!

so far, this program has been very impressive. i encourage everyone to download it and give me their opinions, too!!

Late to the party, but I also recently discovered this! I normally use Krita, which I LOVE, but I found this very refreshing in its lightness - not a whole lot of brushes to choose from, but they seem to work well from what I've seen.

What really impressed me is the small size of the program and the speed! I will try it on my tablet too, to see if it can replace Krita on the go (still doubt it but I think it will work just fine for quick sketches)
